Eating healthily is one of the most important aspects of observing a healthy lifestyle. Healthy eating is not the same as dieting. Healthy eating includes conscious consumption of good food in the right portion and at the right time. It may look complicated but in reality, it is very easy to do. You just need to plan ahead when it comes to planning your meals. Studies show that planning your meals ahead helps you eat better, healthier meals than just reaching for whatever is left in your fridge or pantry. This article will be discussing ways we can achieve healthy eating.
Plan your meals for weekly.
You need to have a clear idea of what your meals will look like throughout the week and what sort of ingredients you will need throughout the week.
Plan around your favourite protein
A good meal combination has more protein, fruits and vegetables than carbohydrates so we advise that you plan your meals with proteins as the main ingredient. For example, you may decide to have a beans week. That means beans will be the main focus. You could combine beans and plantain, beans and bread, beans and rice, beans and potatoes, beans and veggies, beans and tomato sauce etc.  You can do the same for plantain, sweet potato, fish, chicken and proteins.
Choose heavier meals for breakfast and lighter meals for dinner
You do most of your activities in the day so its only natural that you eat more calories during the day than at night. It's easier to burn calories fast if you have an active lifestyle in the day. Just ensure you are eating to fuel your body and not just eating without a sense of portion control
Choose a healthy alternative to sweets and sugary foods. 
We will always crave sweet treats so it is important to have sweet healthy snacks within reach. Eat them along with your meals so you don't feel the need to binge on unhealthy snacks.
Shop in bulk
It is cheaper to shop in bulk. Buy foodstuff in large quantities and store in the fridge or pantry. This allows you to have healthy foods within reach every time and saves money.
Have a lot of plastic food containers 
Finally, have a lot of plastic food containers so you can cook and store your meals for each day. It's also useful when it comes to storing leftovers which can easily be heated up in the microwave.
Once you can achieve eating healthily, you will definitely see improvements in your overall health and well being.
